Taking the long route to Amsterdam....
Just a quick update on my trip ~ I departed Allentown yesterday at 9:30 AM after spending the early morning trying to move my flights up in an effort to outsmart the pending snowstorm. My 5 hour commute (yes, 5+ hours to go from Allentown to Philly on the Northeast Extension) was boring, slow, and uneventful for me (but not for others). I saw 6 cars along the way that had their front ends torn off, rollovers, airbags deployed, etc.). Anyway ~ I had enough foresight to reserve a room which was brilliant because by the time I finally arrived in Philadelphia there was a line out the door of the hotel with people looking (hopeing) for a place to stay. Needless to say, the Bartrum Road Courtyard was a madhouse last night.
Anyway ~ I now have to go to the airport and get my paper tickets re-issued by Delta and Northwest ~ then check in later today for my 8:18 PM flight which is scheduled to take me from Philly to JFK to Amsterdam to Rotterdam. I should arrive about noon tomorrow in the Netherlands!
Wish me luck!
